Role Summary:
The Project Control & Planning Engineer will be responsible for both cost and schedule control. Liaising within PMO team about scope, execution ability and risks during the development stage.

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinating the overall project cost analysis activities from a lead position
  2. Assumes the responsibility for the preparation, quality and accuracy of all the project reporting
  3. Leads the Cost and Schedule discussions during weekly and monthly reviews
  4. Provides liaison and guidance to project management and clients on matters relating to planning and cost control
  5. Identifies and prepares estimates for change orders, trends and extra work orders
  6. Understands construction methodology and will be asked to make site visits to review mitigation strategies in order to make schedule and economic
  7. Is capable of identifying future potential costs and make a judgment regarding its impact to inform the EAC
  8. Makes sure that cost data is being gathered in a proper format to allow for a concise closeout report
  9. Puts together Project Controls Closeout Report where it relates to cost and schedule
Planning and Scheduling responsibilities:
  1. Develop Project Schedules & Review scheduling data and provide input to Contractors and GE team as schedules are developed.
  2. Ensure contractors reporting are as per the minimum GE requirements
  3. Monitor Contractor and Project actual progress versus planned progress
  4. Provide exception reporting and recommend actions
  5. Analyse Critical paths & Lead integration and roll-up of contractors’ schedules and GE tasks to ensure a fully integrated schedule
  6. Prepare overall schedule report analysis for the monthly progress report
  7. Ensure schedule related information, including analysis of deviations from the plan is communicated
  8. Establish and communicate Project Schedule Milestones
  9. Schedule variance analysis
  10. Provide input to the project Risk Register
  11. Seek innovation in scheduling and execution plans that could improve project economics and optimize outcomes

  • Degree in engineering / project management and/or construction management or Quantity Surveyance
  • Higher education in project management (e.g. PMP certification)/ business management (desirable but not
  • Minimum 6-8 years project Cost Control and 4-7 years planning experience (Combined 10-15 years).
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze project schedule and costs, assess progress, provide forecasts, and advise estimate at complete.
  • Ability to recognize and administrate Project management of change needs with GE’s Sub Contractors and also with the GE client contract.
  • Ability to work in a diverse cultural team environment; be able to work unsupervised; accept responsibility and act on directives.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver good quality work with high levels of accuracy.
  • High level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to actively interact and work with the GE and external parties as required.
  • Excellent skills in multi-tasking, prioritisation and time management including ability to manage numerous tasks in a demanding environment.
  • A preparedness to learn and adopt new work practices, systems and procedures.
